Dyana K. Flanigan, Principal
Flanigan has more than 20 years of integrated marketing communications experience. She specializes in helping growing businesses, nonprofit organizations, associations, and entrepreneurs achieve marketing, sales and public relations goals through targeted promotional programs, materials and special events.
With a background that includes experience in both for-profit and not-for profit sectors, Flanigan creates and implements successful communications programs for a wide scope of industries including education, hospitality, arts and entertainment, urban planning and development, business-to-business and professional services. Clients receive significant exposure in all media outlets.
Flanigan also offers customized seminars offering proven marketing tactics and strategies that attendees can easily implement within their own businesses and organizations. She has taught public relations in the graduate program at Roosevelt University; direct marketing in the Stuart School of Business at the Illinois Institute of Technology; and is a trainer with the Community Media Workshop.
Prior to founding her consulting firm, Flanigan oversaw all media relations, marketing, fund raising and community outreach functions at a national not-for-profit organization. While there she launched an education initiative used in more than 20,000 schools, significantly increased media coverage, and increased donations by 40 percent. Previously, Flanigan was a marketing communications manager at an international corporate travel management company, where she developed public relations programs and advertising campaigns. Prior to her work in the travel industry, Flanigan served as account manager and producer at Dayton, Ohio based multi-media company, writing and producing radio and television commercials, as well as sales, training and educational videos.
Flanigan serves on the board of directors of Leadership Illinois, a nonprofit group providing training and networking for women who have excelled in their field and/or in the civic community. She has served as executive vice president on the board of directors for the Chicago Anti-Hunger Federation and is active in many organizations, including PAWS Chicago and the Association of Consultants to Nonprofits. She holds a BS in Mass Communications from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and a MS in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University in Chicago, from which she graduated with honors.
