BACKGROUND:  Windy City Fieldhouse (WCF) is a 55,000 square foot multi-use event site in Chicago. For its corporate clients, WCF develops and facilitates physically and intellectually challenging team-building events, competitive sports challenges, interactive company picnics and employee reward and recognition programs for groups ranging in size from 10 participants to 3000. WCF also brings its programs on-site to companies across the country.

GOAL: Increase corporate and group business

CHALLENGE: While already well known in the Chicagoland area as a team sports league venue, the company wanted to promote its corporate services via exposure in national meeting and event trade publications.

STRATEGY: Hit meeting and incentive publications and offer case studies and bylined articles. Focus on benefits and “how tos” for team building events, versus the venue itself.

RESULT: Flanigan Communications, Inc. obtained monthly coverage in print, broadcast and electronic media that included company profiles, event showcases, case studies, features and bylined articles. Media coverage included Meeting News, Illinois Meetings and Events, Event Solutions, Meetings and Conventions, Association Management, Forum Magazine, Human Capital: Strategies and News, as well as local coverage in Chicago Magazine, Chicago Tribune, Agenda Chicago, Chicago Business Today, Inside Publications and feature segments on FOX 32 and WGN-Channel 9.
